NAPLAN

The National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) is an annual assessment for students in Years 3, 5, 7 and 9. It is made up of tests in the four areas of: Reading, Writing, Language Conventions (spelling, grammar and punctuation) and Numeracy. Our Year 3 and 5 students will complete the NAPLAN tests. They are tailored tests which adapts to student responses, presenting students with questions that may be more or less difficult – resulting in better assessment and more precise results. The online exams will begin on Wednesday 12th March and contine until Monday 24th March.

Cross Country

Date: 26 March
Time: 9:00 AM-3:00 PM
Location: Wayne Richards Oval, Koala St Port Macquarie

Our Cross Country for students in Years 3 to 6 will be held at Wayne Richards Park, Koala St Port Macquarie. Students will leave school at 9.45am and return to school by 2pm Students will travel to and from the event by bus. They may wear their sports clothes, school hat and running shoes. If required , student will bring asthma medication with them. They will need to bring backpack with lunch, snacks, water, sunscreen, hat and picnic rug to sit on. Cost is $5.70. Permission note and payment via School Bytes. Parents/Carers are most welcome to attend. Please bring camp chair or picnic rug.

Football _Soccer Gala Day

Location: Findlay Park, Findlay Ave, Port Macquarie

Students in Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 are invited to attend the Football (soccer) Gala Day to be held at Findlay Park, Port Macquarie. Students will be walking to and from Finday Park. Students are to arrive at school by 9.05 am for a 9.30 am start. Students will need to wear school uniform including school hat, shin pads, football socks, joggers or football boots. There is no cost for this event although permission is required. PLEASE CONSENT VIA SCHOOLBYTES.

Senior Choir - Sydney FoCM

Location: Sydney

Some of our Senior Choir members will represent Westport at the Festival of Choral Music at the Sydney Opera House. Our students will depart Westport Public School on Sunday 3rd August, perform at the Opera House on Monday 4th August and return on Tuesday 5th August. Cost for this event is approximately $350.00 per person. This covers travel, meals, entertainment and accommodation. Students will stay at the YHA Sydney Harbour and transport to and from the excursion will by bus. Permission note is required.
